Waiting in line at the grocery store for what felt like an eternity, only to have the cashier ring up a can of soup I'd bought weeks ago as an item not found. Like, did the register think I hid it in the ceiling for inspiration? I just shrugged and let them scan it again, still feeling a strange sense of embarrassment.
