I'm fuming about being asked for my library number for the sixth time when I had just pulled the book off the shelf an hour ago and checked it out. Come on, don't all library software systems sync up? Can't the cashier see the same computer screen I'm looking at? This one little card just adds to the whole tedious checkout process.
