Walking by those new automatic doors at the coffee shop always gets to me, their awkward slowness making me late. It's the little things, I suppose. Like the way they hesitate for a beat, the whine of the motor beneath the counter. And just as you step forward, one of them decides, 'Yeah okay, let's close', just a fraction too late.
