Walking into my apartment today, I couldn't figure out why the door creaked. I've lived here for three years, I've oiled that hinges probably a dozen times but now it feels like trying to open a rusty trap. What gets me is it wasn't the hinges, it was a tiny piece of torn carpet right in front of the door that was making me yank the door shut all weird.
