Walking home, 598 meters exactly, I got to 596,769 only to realize my headphones battery was dead. Now I'm stuck with the awful background chatter on public transit – the kind that grates on your nerves – with no soothing tunes to shut it out. The smallest things sometimes are just enough to kill the quiet.
