I just had the most infuriatingly mundane conversation with the receptionist at my doctor's office, 38 seconds spent explaining that yes, I do have insurance, no, I don't think it's expired, and yes, this visit was scheduled in advance, as if the whole system wasn't a digital repository of information anyway.
