Fumbling for my coffee lid this morning was the perfect microcosm for the day ahead. I dropped the lid while trying to open it, and of course, the coffee splurted everywhere except in my cup. Now my shirt, the table, and the entire kitchen floor are a disaster. All because one stupid little plastic piece decided to make things more complicated.
